I really liked the shape of the shadows on the wall in this painting, as well as the leaf on the red apple and the very long stem on the pear. I don't know what other people get really excited about but when I find a piece of fruit that is a bit more unusual or anything with a leaf on it, I get so excited and can't wait to get them home to paint. I'm jealous of you folks who live in more temperate climates and can pick your fruit right off the trees. My usual trip to the supermarket involves going thru the fruit bins, picking up possible models, finding a flat surface to see how they sit/fit together...

Today's Quotation: "The creative person is both more primitive and more cultivated, more destructive and more constructive, a lot madder and a lot saner, than the average person."
