"Limes In A Bowl" by Marina Petro

Sold
"Limes In A Bowl"
6x8 inches
Oil on Raymar Canvas Panel

I am enjoying painting fruit on colorful fabrics. I've been scouring the house for interesting fabric patterns and found quite a few which include some of my clothing. I'm happy with this painting. It's so bright and lifts my energy when I view it. Generally, the color red denotes high energy/vitality and green represents healing and prosperity. See you again real soon...

Daily Quotation: "Travelers, there is no path. Paths are made by walking."

"THE SECRET" by Marina Petro

"The Secret"
6"x6" Original oil on Raymar Canvas Panel
Email me if you are interested in purchasing this painting.

I was moving my fruit models around on the kitchen counter trying to find just the right combination to paint. These two struck just the right pose. I am always delighted when something whimsical/entertaining happens and I can come up with a catchy title. Doesn't take much to keep me happy...

"LADYBUG" by Marina Petro

"Ladybug"
6x6 inches
Oil on Raymar Canvas Panel
Sold
I though this painting was finished when I completed painting the two pears.
I liked it well enough, but thought it needed something else. I pondered for a few moments and then a ladybug popped into my mind. Now I'm very happy with it. Hope you like it too.

Daily Quotation: "The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you; Don't go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want; Don't go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don't go back to sleep.

The Secret
6" x 6" (15.3cm x 15.3cm)
Oil on Panel
$100 plus $8 shipping and handling in the US

NOTE: This might be the second and complete post you receive from me today. I clicked the wrong button and the first one was published before I finished it...

I was moving my fruit models around on the counter trying to decide on a composition and which ones to choose when these two cuties took this pose. The painting and title were immediately decided on.

This has been one of those extreme technologically challenging days and I can't wait to get away from this computer. It began with trying to figure out Squidoo to make a lens (I was not successful) and ended with a very familiar application giving me major problems and just about freezing my computer...that's where I stopped, decided to post this painting and then hide in my studio away from the rest of the world....see you soon again.

I am very happy with this painting. I found my models at the local Farmer's Market and couldn't wait to come home and paint them. I hope you enjoy them too.

"PEAR" by Marina Petro

"PEAR"
6x8 inches
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Stretched Canvas
Sold
I've been getting subtle suggestions at home about painting something other than pears...but, as usual, I listen and then do whatever pleases me. As long as my local Price Chopper Supermarket miraculously delivers one pear in the bin with a leaf still attached like they did again today, I will keep painting pears and pray they live until I can get to them. So, folks, there are more pears coming soon. I check out all the fruit bins when I am there. I'd love to find an apple or peach with a leaf. Maybe next time... I am pleased with how this painting turned out. Hope you like viewing it too.

I like this painting a lot. I was so happy when I miraculously found these pears with their leaves still attached. As soon as I'm finished posting I'll head toward my easel where another "Zone" painting is waiting to be worked on. I took a couple of photos of it in different stages and will post these photos soon.

Holiday Studio Exhibit & Sale

My two friends and acupuncturists, Clarence Lu his wife, Judy Kodela at my Holiday Studio Exhibit & Sale...

No individual painting posted today but you can get a view of one wall of daily paintings I had displayed at my studio sale in the photo above. I need a short break after yesterday. I always minimize the amount of work that goes into preparing for a studio exhibit...and then, getting the studio back into shape for painting.

"MOONGLOW" by Marina Petro

"Moonglow"
3x3 inches, Original oil painting on gallery wrapped stretched canvas w/easel
$39 + $5 shipping + handling

This baby gave me such a difficult time to photograph and such a joy to paint. It truly looks better in 'person?' Maybe someday I'll break out the manual to my camera and actually read it. Might make things a bit easier. I have been enjoying painting these tiny 3x3 inch paintings. I think I have one canvas left in this size and will order more. I'm working on a small floral painting now. I was in awe of the cloud formations again today. Huge beautiful white clouds so there will probably be another cloud painting coming soon too. I feel like I'm really in my 'element' when I'm painting clouds...always from memory or imagination....

"BREAKING THRU" by Marina Petro

"Breaking Thru
Oil On Stretched Gallery Wrap Canvas
4x6 inches
$75
Purchase "Breaking Thru" here

Another repost today folks. I haven't been able to get near my studio or do whatever else is necessary to post a new painting. I woke up to my heater malfunctioning among other minor situations that took up most of the day and I'm tired now. But..I wanted to keep in touch and reposting is fairly easy.

"Breaking Thru" was painted intuitively, from my imagination. It was a joy to paint. I hope you enjoy viewing it!

"THE PREGNANT PEAR"

"The Pregnant Pear"
Original oil painting on 6x6 Raymar canvas panel
$99 + Shipping
Please email me for purchasing options (link below)
I tried listing this on ebay but ran into some frustrating glitches there.

What a pleasure it was to discover this little lady at our local Price Chopper supermarket! Simple pleasures. It's compulsive now. Whenever I enter a grocery store, I head for the fruit bins to see if there's anything unusual waiting to be immortalized in paint. I'm very happy with how this painting turned out.

I sure hope I'll be able to post more often soon. I just love the following quotation. I just discovered in a book my daughter, Joy, gave me: WabiSabi-The Art of Everyday Life by Diane Durston.

"TIPSY" by Marina Petro

"Tipsy"
6x8 inches
Oil on Raymar Canvas Panel
$100
SOLD

It was a little tricky getting these little tipsy pears to stay put long enough to paint them. I must be a curious sight to other shoppers at the supermarket fruit bins as I thoughtfully pick up one piece of fruit after another...sometimes contemplating them in my outstretched palm...other times balancing them on the closest flat surface I can find...moving them around in different positions...It's fun!

I hope this painting displays it's rich colors on your computer screen. I am the very happy owner of a Macintosh computer but what I see may not be what you see if you have a Windows computer.

"Lemon"
6x8 inches
Oil on Raymar Canvas Panel
$100
email me to purchase (link is below)

If you have been following my posts you will remember how excited I get when I find a piece of fruit with the leaves still attached. I got lucky again in my local Price Chopper. As I passed the fresh flower counter I noticed a bunch of leaves that were quite different than the ordinary ferns they use for bouquets....lemon leaves! I had some lemons home and here we are with today's painting. I'm happy with the outcome. Hope you enjoy viewing it too.

"Approaching Eden"

"Approaching Eden"
5x7 inches
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas-painted sides
$100
Purchase at eBay here
or email me for other options (link below)

This is one of my earlier daily paintings. It might take me a week or so to get back on track and begin photographing and posting new paintings. I will be away this weekend without access to the internet. Funny thing about the daily painting movement. Since I came on board and created this blog (which I am delighted I did) I feel like 'someone is watching'....and I suppose they are. There's a sense of needing to produce a finished painting every day which isn't always possible...lately it's been difficult and I'm doing the best I can. I'm usually working on a larger painting at any given time as well as these baby paintings which I love to do.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy what I am presenting. Approaching Eden was painted from my imagination and I am pleased with it. It flowed beautifully which isn't always the case. From time to time I'll begin a painting and it turns to mud or something I wouldn't want to hang in a room with the lights out.

So now that I've posted I'll get back to working on my next painting.

Today's Quotation: "We have a wonderful world to be inspired by and each new day is like an adventure into the unknown, where things that require a second glance can be captured in time on a canvas for anyone to enjoy forever."
-Louise Corke

"THREE PEARS" by Marina Petro

"Three Pears"
6x8 inches
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
$100
Purchase at ebay here
or...email me for other arrangements.

I've posted this painting before but thought I'd post it again today. I've slowed down a bit with the heat wave we've been in. Didn't feel much like photographing anything new. This does seem to be a slow period on all accounts. I'm working hard recreating my new website and hope to have it up and running soon. Most of my artwork will be reflected there, including my paintings from "The Zone" and most of the daily paintings.

I also have a four-week "Master Your Intuition" workshop coming up next month that needs to be promoted so...I'm a busy girl.

Today's Quotation: "To a nonpainter, oil paint is uninteresting and faintly unpleasant. To a painter, it is the life's blood: a substance so utterly entrancing, infuriating, and ravishingly beautiful that it makes it worthwhile to go back into the studio every morning, year after year, for an entire lifetime."
