I have a beautiful frame for this painting. Cost is $25-no extra charge for framing/shipping.

I am in my natural environment when I paint these celestial landscapes. Paint seems to take on a life of it's own and flow naturally from brush to palette to canvas. On occasion, there is pure disaster and I wipe everything off and start all over but the majority of times there is perfect flow...at least that's what I experience. Flow...it's what I aspire to in my life. Following the lead of my intuition has been of great value in this quest...I've got a way to go though...

This little piece was a surprise and a joy to paint. When I finished it I felt it was 'unbalanced' in some way but couldn't decide what to do about it. I placed it on a tiny easel in my dining room so I could look at it as I passed by during the day while it dried. A couple of days later, a friend spotted it and purchased it on the spot.

...Another product from my imagination. I began this painting a few months ago. I went as far as I could with it and then put it aside. I tweaked it yesterday, adding more definition to the cliffs, worked on getting the moon to glow more and now I'm happy with it. There's a subtle white form between the two cliffs that looks like an angel. This was not deliberate...it just happened and I decided to leave it there. What do you think? I'm not overjoyed with the title I've given this painting and will be open to your suggestions for the next day or two...

This is what the sky looked like here yesterday. It was difficult to take my eyes off the sky as I was out and about driving and taking care of my errands. I couldn't wait to get home and paint my impression of the dramatic cloud formations that were dancing about all day.

This piece was painted spontaneously from my imagination. It was a joy to paint from beginning to end. Everything flowed beautifully. I love it when that happens. This cosmic landscape is a bit softer in color than most of the ones I've painted in the past, which are considerably more intense. You can view these at my website gallery. I am drawn to paint these cosmic scenes periodically...something I just need to do.

I've numbered this painting because I suspect I'll be painting many more full moons in the future and it's been a little difficult getting creative with titles for these paintings of the moon surrounded by clouds. If you have any ideas, please let me know. In the past I've called them "Magic Moon" "Magical Moon" Moon Magic" "Moonscape" "Mystical Moon" "Moonglow" ...so I'm up for any suggestions.

In any case, I enjoyed painting this piece. It flowed well and I stopped working on it at the point when I began to struggle.

I'm warming up my studio now and can't wait to start painting. We've been having a snow storm here...about 7 inches so far with considerable drifting...and more to come tomorrow...

The actual painting looks better in real life. I've been experimenting with painting on smaller canvas. It's been interesting. I have a few more I'll be posting in the coming days. They are all painted around the sides and look just lovely sitting on the easel. I will be listing this piece on ebay, probably within a week or so.

I visit other artist's websites and blogs fairly often. It appears most successful ones sustain a relative amount of consistency, at least in their style of painting. It seems like it would be a welcomed relief if I were more consistent with style and subject matter...it drives me crazy but it's still impossible for me to choose one, or even two and stay with those. I understand that this is not desirable in the art industry. What do you think? The most difficult part is having two or three paintings in progress with other ideas coming in constantly and limited time to explore and paint them all. Whew!

A blue moon is when the moon is full twice in a month. Here's my blue moon a day late. I don't have much to say today. I've been in Albany,NY at the wonderful Apple Computer store learning how to create my daily painting database in a new application. These little critters are piling up and the need to organize them for easy access was pressing. My left brain hemisphere is on overload and my right brain is nowhere to be found...

"Moon Magic" is my impression of the last full moon which inspired this painting. I was driving home, the moon was full and beautifully framed with clouds in the night sky. It was truly magical! I stopped to take a photo of it but, alas, it didn't photograph very well. I'm still not too savvy with camera settings.
