"Standing Alone" is one of the paintings I've submitted to the "Art From The Heart For Haiti" exhibit at Mimosa Gallery. Opening reception is tomorrow night, Saturday, February 20 from 5-8 pm. Hope to see some of you local folks there.

The colors in this painting are the colors of serenity, healing and spirituality. Blue is a color that denotes spirituality and enhances relaxation. Green is the universal color for healing, well being and prosperity. White is spirituality and yellow denotes happiness and enlightment. In short, this piece falls into the category of Healing Art.

The photo doesn't do this painting justice. It is truly striking. I just couldn't get a good representation of it or capture the light across the foreground. I had this frame hanging around but didn't think it would enhance the painting. What a surprise when I popped the painting in. It looked perfect. I've ordered more of these plein air frames for a few of the pieces I have recently finished and am currently working on in this larger 16x20 size.
