"Bog Meadow" by Marina Petro

"Bog Meadow"
4"x6"
Oil on gallery wrapped stretched canvas.
Painted around all sides. Can be hung without a frame if desired.
Email me to inquire about purchasing this piece.

This piece was painted from a photo I snapped en route to Saratoga Springs, NY along a marsh. I live in the quiet countryside surrounding Saratoga and trek into the city most days to get my mail, run errands and other fun stuff. Saratoga, a magical little city, is famous for it's summer throughbred horse racing, healing springs, and mineral baths.

Today's Quotation: "Nature knows no pause in progress and development, and attaches her curse on all inaction." -Goethe

"PEAR" by Marina Petro

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
$100
Purchase here at eBay

Just returned from a weekend away so this is a repost. I enjoy painting fruit with patterned fabric backgrounds but it makes it difficult to complete the painting in one day. Haven't been painting this weekend but I've been fantasizing about all the paintings I'd love to paint. Hopefully you will see them soon.

Today's Quotation: "Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men."
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

"MIDSUMMER" by Marina Petro

"Midsummer"
16x20
Oil on Canvas
email me for details and to purchase

This painting was catalyzed by a photo I saw in a gardening magazine. You wouldn't know it was the same picture though. The original photo had two trees, both with leaves. I added the flowers. I feel happy whenever I see it. Right now it is available as the original but I will be making prints and giclees on canvas shortly.

Today's daily quotation is from the book "The War Of Art" by Steven Pressfield. It is one of my favorites. I highly recommend it to everyone involved in any creative venture.

Daily Quotation: "Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would not otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man would have dreamed would come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets: "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, magic, and power in it. Begin it now"

"ANGEL LIGHT" by Marina Petro

"Angel Light"
22x28 inches
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Email me to purchase

Here is another product of my imagination...(no kidding)
I have been working on a larger piece so it's been tricky producing a small painting daily as a result. There's just so much a girl can do. Hopefully I will be able to pare down some of the daily demands, have the time to complete a small painting daily and continue to work on my larger works. Thanks for looking...

Daily Quotation: "Every day we should hear at least one little song, read one good poem, see one exquisite picture, and, if possible, speak a few sensible words."

"SOLAR ANGEL" by Marina Petro

"Solar Angel"
5x7 inches
Acrylic on Gesso Board
$100
Sold

Painting Solar Angel was a new experience for me. It is the first time I've
painted on a board with acrylic. I'm pleased with the outcome. The turquoise background might appear a bit differently on your monitor. It is actually more of a rich teal color but my camera was not cooperating. I've included a framed version to illustrate how it might look framed.

Daily Quotation: "Rest not! Life is sweeping by; go dare before you die. Something mighty and sublime, leave behind to conquer time."

"Saratoga Bog"

"Saratoga Bog"
Oil On Stretched Gallery Wrap Canvas
Painted on all sides.
5 x 7 inches
$100

Purchase "Saratoga Bog" here

This is the first small landscape I've ever painted. It's going to take some time getting accustomed to painting so small. This piece was painted from a photo I snapped en route to Saratoga Springs, NY. I live in the quiet countryside surrounding Saratoga and trek into the city each day to get my mail, run errands and other fun stuff. Saratoga is famous for it's summer throughbred horse racing, healing springs, and mineral baths. The baths are wonderful...tubs are so deep you can actually float! The mineral water is carbonated...it's like bathing in warm champagne.
