When I brought my fruit purchase home from the supermarket, I noticed a little extension jutting out from the pear stem....the perfect opportunity to see whether I could get one of the cherries to hang from it....oh....the simple amusements of life...

I'm rather at a loss for much to say about this little cherry painting which I really like. Wish I had some chocolate to dip them in when the painting was finished.

Are any of you interested in experiencing what some refer to as 'mind over matter'? If so, close your eyes, take in a deep breath, and imagine you are biting into one of these very tart red cherries....Did you salivate a bit?  That's mind over matter....

I hadn't painted cherries prior to this painting. I am very happy with how it turned out. The fabric they were sitting on was plain so I improvised and added the white highlights. Some look like leaves to me and others look like butterflies. I have been preoccupied with many details that have prevented me from painting as much as I ordinarily do and I am feeling it. I'm never really happy unless I have spent time in my studio. Hopefully I'll pull my act together this week and get back on track.

This piece was painted closeup on a decorative plate. I especially like the bright red cherry. I so enjoy painting fruit on decorative backgrounds. It does take quite a bit more work but worth it.
