I'm rather at a loss for much to say about this little cherry painting which I really like. Wish I had some chocolate to dip them in when the painting was finished.

Are any of you interested in experiencing what some refer to as 'mind over matter'? If so, close your eyes, take in a deep breath, and imagine you are biting into one of these very tart red cherries....Did you salivate a bit?  That's mind over matter....

I was very happy to find this beautiful fabric to use as the backdrop for my fruit. I will be using it again and again in more paintings.  I am not happy with the title I finally chose. Just couldn't come up with anything more interesting. If you'd like to email me with what you would consider a 'better' title for this piece, I might consider using it....

This little piece has been hanging around for a time so I've lowered the price from $100 to $75. Photo here does not do it justice. The cherries are really luscious. This was my first cherry painting. I'm moaning and groaning again. It's already 4:30, I've had a bunch projects I needed to work on and I'm getting tired of all the extraneous responsibilities outside of painting. I had to look for the image of a painting in my paintings folder and got so excited with so many new ideas that I cannot possibly implement. A friend of mine once said that I need 8 bodies to manifest all my creative ideas. Sooo frustrating!

I hadn't painted cherries prior to this painting. I am very happy with how it turned out. The fabric they were sitting on was plain so I improvised and added the white highlights. Some look like leaves to me and others look like butterflies. I have been preoccupied with many details that have prevented me from painting as much as I ordinarily do and I am feeling it. I'm never really happy unless I have spent time in my studio. Hopefully I'll pull my act together this week and get back on track.

This is the first time I've ever painted cherries. It was fun...easier than I thought it would would be and...they were delicious! I wanted to experiment with less structure and a grey background. I've thought of noting the colors I use in some of my plainer backgrounds to have as a handy reference. Most are done spontaneously and the ones I really like are difficult to reproduce.
