A serene landscape painting featuring a calm body of water running through the middle. On both sides of the waterway, rich, vibrant bushes dotted with purple and pink flowers frame the scene. The sky above is expansive, with a soft, cloudy texture that gives a sense of depth and tranquility. A subtle sun is slightly obscured by the clouds, casting a gentle, diffuse glow over the entire scene. The painting evokes a peaceful, almost dreamlike atmosphere, capturing the quiet beauty of a natural setting.

LAKE GEORGE is one of my favorite places to visit. This particular rendition of original paintings I've done of the lake was inspired by a photograph a friend of mine took. The view is from Million Dollar Beach on Beach Road.

SUNFLOWER was created to be displayed in a special exhibit at  the Spring Street Gallery in Saratoga Springs, NY to benefit Pitney Meadows Community Farm. We were instructed to visit the farm for inspiration and to create a project inspired by sunflowers. 

Exhibit opening is this Saturday, September 15 from 4 - 6 pm. I have a plein air event in Round Lake, NY where I will be painting outdoors all day and not quite sure whether I'll be able to attend the opening...boo hoo...But...if it is raining I will be there....

I knew of the farm but didn't know about the amazing flower gardens they had there. Pitney Meadows is now on my list of favorite places to paint on location...en plein air.

When I brought it back to my studio I didn't particularly love it so I began painting spontaneously and this is the resulting piece which I am very happy with. THE HAPPY GARDEN  was created plein air at the entrance to the famous Victoria Pool  

at Saratoga State Park in Saratoga Springs, NY. - my current and very beautiful home town! 

The flowers on my table in the photo with my painting gear were presented to me that afternoon by the man who plants all the beautiful floral displays throughout the park - he is truly an artist as well! This year's displays are the best ever.

As I was finishing up this painting, a woman passed by and loudly exclaimed how HAPPY this painting made her feel.....hence.....it's name!
