"BREAKING THRU" by Marina Petro

"Breaking Thru
Oil On Stretched Gallery Wrap Canvas
4x6 inches
$75

Another repost today folks. I haven't been able to get near my studio or do whatever else is necessary to post a new painting. I woke up to my heater malfunctioning among other minor situations that took up most of the day and I'm tired now. But..I wanted to keep in touch and reposting is fairly easy.

"Breaking Thru" was painted intuitively, from my imagination. It was a joy to paint. I hope you enjoy viewing it!

Daily Quotation: "The light that never was on sea or land, yet which all men see sometime or other"-William Wilfred Campbell

This is a whimsical little piece I had a lot of fun painting.
Today was a busy day. I stayed home for a change. I've planned some new classes which include a day long intuitive painting workshop, "Painting From The Zone" scheduled for April 26. It is the pilot for what I hope will be an ongoing event. I photographed some new paintings, printed out a few reference photos of the countryside here, and began another "Zone Painting." I'd started a painting in class which I spent just too much time on trying to make it work. I think it's beyond repair and I finally put it aside with a sigh of relief.

"PHOENIX RISING" by Marina Petro

The original 30x40 inch painting is in a private collection.
I am offering a 16x20 inch double matted print on sale for $39+$8 shipping.
I recently had a 20x30 inch giclee on stretched canvas printed locally for a customer. I was just stunned when I saw how exquisite it turned out. If anyone in the NY Capital District would like one it would cost $250 and I would deliver it. Outside of the NY Capital District, you can order it on paper or canvas here and have it shipped directly to you: Imagekind.Com

In Egyptian mythology, the phoenix is a beautiful bird that lives for 500 years. It builds its own funeral pyre with wood and spices, sets itself on fire and rises reborn again from the ashes more beautiful than ever to live for another 500 years. The Phoenix Rising is a symbol for resurrection, immortality, triumph over adversity and the indomitable power of the human spirit.

I am very pleased to announce that IMAGEKINDselected me as one of their featured artists for this week. They have featured my painting of two pears, "Lean On Me" on their front page. Take a look. Much of my artwork can be ordered directly from them in a variety of sizes on paper and canvas.

Today's Quotation: "To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring."

I tried listing this on ebay but ran into some frustrating glitches there.

What a pleasure it was to discover this little lady at our local Price Chopper supermarket! Simple pleasures. It's compulsive now. Whenever I enter a grocery store, I head for the fruit bins to see if there's anything unusual waiting to be immortalized in paint. I'm very happy with how this painting turned out.

I sure hope I'll be able to post more often soon. I just love the following quotation. I just discovered in a book my daughter, Joy, gave me: WabiSabi-The Art of Everyday Life by Diane Durston.

Daily Quotation: "Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in."
