This is the third and last Firebird - Phoenix painting I have completed over the years. I am pretty sure there will be more to come...at least one more. 

"FIREBIRD" was painted from my imagination spontaneously. The original oil painting was a large 30 x 40 inches on stretched canvas and purchased several years ago.

The beauty and power of the Phoenix Rising is depicted in this painting. In Egyptian mythology, the phoenix is a beautiful bird that lives for 500 years. It builds its own funeral pyre with wood and spices, sets itself on fire and rises reborn again from the ashes more beautiful than ever to live for another 500 years. The Phoenix Rising is a symbol for resurrection, immortality, triumph over adversity and the indomitable power of the human spirit.

I painted this phoenix toward the end of a long period of illness. My energy and sense of well being miraculously began to return upon it's completion.
