This is one of my favorite smaller paintings. I thought it was going to be fairly easy to paint, however, it turned out to be quite difficult. As I look at it now, I am considering painting a much larger version in a square format...hhmm...Often the larger paintings are easier. I am presently working on a large 20 x 20 still life with plums and beautiful lillies...perhaps when that one is finished....

"Psychedelic Lemons" is the second painting I've created using this wonderful, colorful fabric in the background. Here is it's counterpart, "Psychedelic Pear" ... They look fantastic together and will brighten up any room. It was a good choice to paint this one on these cold, gray and raw winter days in the solitude of my studio.

Another lemon painting that's been hiding in my studio for a while. I think I have a case of 'Spring Fever' and just not up to communicating all that much today....

Lemons and pears are my current favorite fruits to paint. I especially enjoy painting these large pieces  with the fruit being exaggerated beyond it's normal size.

Can you imagine this bright and cheerful painting in your dining area or kitchen? 

The combination of turquoise blue and golden yellow in a person's energy field or aura are said to indicate a developed sense of intuition and creativity. 

I loved working with these colors and will most likely use this fabric as a background again...possibly with lemons and oranges just rolling around on it...

Can you imagine this striking painting in your dining area? The background for this piece is a sheet of decorative paper I found in my local craft store. I saw it and immediately thought ...what a wonderful painting some bright yellow lemons placed on it would make. I originally painted this piece in a small 6x6 inch format which sold quite quickly. I was curious to see how it would look as a large painting. I am happy with it...

I love this painting. I had painted a smaller 6x6 inch version of it some time ago which sold quickly. Recently, I decided to paint larger versions of some of my favorite smaller pieces I'm painting these larger still life versions on 20" x 20" gallery wrapped canvas. They will not need framing. The original piece was 6" x 6" on canvas panel. I've completed one more which has also been sold and I'll post it next time around here.
