This beautiful guardian angel seemed to paint herself!

I began the painting with my canvas in a horizontal position, intending to paint a garden. Nothing seemed to work and I created a real mess. 

In my frustration, I intuitively / impulsively turned the canvas around vertically on my easel and began to paint spontaneously. As I continued painting, the image of this angel appeared. 

The original painting has been sold but I am happy to have it available as a fine art print in a variety of sizes.

 Many years ago when I was a teenager walking through Central Park, NY with a friend quite late one night, I sensed a presence behind me. When I turned around, I saw this angel and it appeared she was chasing me!  At the time, it frightened me and I ran as fast as I could to get away! 

Afterward, I realized she was a protective presence, but it was such a shock to see this ethereal presence...and being so young...I instinctively ran. I began this painting with the intention of painting an angel but when it was completed, I realized it depicted the angel that I experienced in the park. The original painting was 22 x 28 inches and was purchased by a collector in Australia. 

I am very happy to make it available as a fine art print for you to enjoy.

The original painting, "ANGEL DESCENDING" was a large original oil painting on canvas. It was the very first angel I'd ever painted. It was also a commissioned piece that was to be used to illustrate a CD cover....I lost all that information quite a few years ago in a nasty computer crash.

If the person that commissioned me to paint the angel hadn't done so, I might never have thought of painting angels....interesting how things unfold. My feeling about this particular angel is that she brings blessings with her presence....

I had no intention of painting an angel when I began this painting. I started painting with the canvas in a horizontal position. I'd intended to paint a garden scene which wasn't working at all. No matter what i tried to alter or improve on it didn't work. When I became frustrated enough, I turned the painting around to a vertical position and began to paint again....and....almost magically, the form of this angel appeared. The original piece has been adopted into a good home quite a few years ago.

The original Dancing Angels was painted several years ago and sold almost immediately. I experimented with printing it on my trusty Epson printer and it printed beautifully....ready to mat and frame.

This painting was created intuitively from my imagination. It just flowed beautifully without effort....wish they were all so easy....but then I might not learn much. Seems like the challenges develop my painting skill to a greater degree.

Below is a picture of me at Frankie Flores Gallery Opening Reception last Friday night. It was a wonderful party with a steady stream of art lovers attending. I was holding a bottle of wine in my right hand with a bit of a naughty label which I cropped out. Don't want to offend anyone, but it was fun...Would anyone like to turn on their intuitive powers and take a guess at what was on the label?  I need a good laugh today so don't be shy....
