This is one of my new larger paintings. It depicts a hill I pass daily on my way home on Southard Road on the outskirts of Saratoga Springs, NY. I am hoping to photograph it with one of those beautiful dramatic November purple-gray cloudy skies but so far there haven't been any...at least when the light was right for a painting. I'd like to paint this scene in all four seasons.

Beautiful, Marina!
I can relate to this one. I passed a little hill as I drove to and from work for 25 years. I remember that hill back to my childhood. There were 2 trees on the hill, but lightning struck one. For many years, the stump of the damaged tree remained. So, the one one tree still remains. Changing seasons, animals, the sky, and even the fence, make this very interesting.
I was offered a job in another town and the first thing I thought of was that I wouldn't pass by "the tree" anymore! And then I thought, "there are no windows in that new building". I couldn't be cooped up all day in a room without a window to look out of! So, I stayed where I was until I retired.
I painted the tree many times, took photos, and even made up a little poem about it to say as I passed by with my grandsons.
Thanks for reminding me. Since I retired, I seldom see the tree. The old filling station and house across the highway are gone now, replaced by a glaring metal commercial building. I just hope that they don't decide to bulldoze the tree for some kind of development.
This one is really special, to me.
Hope that you are doing well and will have a healthy, happy, prosperous New Year!
