This painting has two notches on the back which make it easy to hang with just a small nail. It can be hung either vertically or horizontally. I painted it vertically, but think it looks just fine horizontally as well. 

I painted 'Cosmic Blossoms' in response to the Daily Painters International Challenge Blog. The challenge for April was to create a painting with stripes. The DPI Challenge Blog is connected to the Daily Painters International Art Gallery (DPIAG) of which I am a member. It was founded and created by an amazing artist, K.Madison Moore who has become a good friend. 

Although an invitation is required to participate with  DPIAG, all artists are invited to participate in the monthly painting challenge. May's challenge is 'Fringe.' Check it out at the link above, if you are interested in joining us.

This beautiful painting contains all the colors that invoke serenity, peace, and well being. It was  a pleasure to paint. ..not much of a struggle with this one. I feel like I'm being drawn right into the landscape when I view it, as if I am right there...

This ethereal piece was painted from a photograph I took early in the morning while driving to my painting class. The photo does not do it justice. It has beautiful shades of violet, blue grays, pinks. The trees in the foreground are a very deep green with a touch of purple. 

This painting invokes peace and tranquility...at least for me. The color purple is the combination of red and blue. It is often associated with royalty, nobility, ambition and luxury. Purple is also associated with spirituality, dignity, creativity, mystery and magic.  I painted one wall in the main part of my home a beautiful shade of purple. Purple is one of my favorite colors.

I do enjoy painting single subjects and think I may begin to paint more of them. They really look wonderful in the new wide plein air frames I have in stock.

This luscious apple was painted on a piece of fabric one of my daughters gave me. I'll be setting up more fruit on other sections of it's bright pattern in the future. It just struck me that this painting resembles a map...somewhere at the edge of an ocean.

This has been a hectic weekend. Just as I decided to offer my ANGEL PAINTINGS as cards in a special offer (below) my printer died. Yesterday was spent on Epson's tech line trying to bring it back to life...unsuccessfully...and then...running around for hours hunting for a suitable replacement. I got lucky at Staples and found the one and only Epson Stylus Photo Pro 1400 they had and then spent the rest of the day setting it all up.
