I held my breath when I emailed an image of the final painting to the person who commissioned me to paint a garden similar to some that I've created in the past. She emailed back that it was perfect and brought tears to her eyes when she saw it. Eliciting that strong emotional response told me that I did 'something right' here. I actually feel this is the best garden painting I've created thus far. It truly has to be seen in person as there is a 'special' quality I haven't captured before.
The person who commissioned the painting wanted an angel included in the painting. She left it up to me to decide whether it would be a defined angel or a suggestion of an angel in the cloud formations or elsewhere.
When I began to paint clouds into the blue sky, angels began to appear on their own. You can't really see it clearly in the photo but there is a definite presence in the upper right of the painting just above the gate. Can you see the others?
Today's Quotation: "Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space. It does not seek anything in return; it asks not whether you are friend or foe. It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished.
