"Golden Moon" is another miniature creation from my imagination. I'm sitting here looking at it on its tiny canvas and thinking how great it would look in a much larger painting. I do love these little gems but am feeling like I want to paint larger again. The good thing about my miniatures is the 'almost instant gratification' seeing them completed in one day. On the negative side, they are much more beautiful in person as the photographs simply do not capture them accurately and it seems there's not much I can do about it.

"Angels Above Sedona" was painted spontaneously/intuitively from wherever these images hide and then come forth through my brain/brush. When I finished the painting and tried to give it a title, Sedona, Arizona came to mind (the red cliff structures) and I also saw the suggestion of angels above them. 

I'd visited Sedona several times when two of my daughters were living there some years ago. It was magnificent! The red rock mountains, cliffs and landscape transported me to what I perceive as the beginning of time, or at least the creation of this earth.  What I had a hard time doing, though, was ignoring the shopping strips which interfered with the beauty of the landscape.

"SUNSET" is the sixth in the series of  miniature works. "Garden Of Light"  which was posted yesterday sold quickly to a very happy collector. I am thankful once again!

It is very strange that these little ones don't photograph as well as larger paintings. They are truly more beautiful in person. This one doesn't show the subtle changes between the orange and red colors in the sky or the glow around the sun and horizon...oh well, I've done my best.

"Heaven's Light" is the fourth in the series of (10 so far) miniature paintings I am working on. It was painted from my imagination. I have painted many of these gardens with light streaming down from above in all sizes. Each one is different than the others but the theme is the same. I love painting them and my collectors love collecting them...win win situation. I consider them a form of 'Healing Art' as they contain the primary colors of healing which are green, pale yellow and magenta and needless to say, streaming white light. How does it make you feel to view it?

Once again...these small works do not photograph well...either with a camera or scanned. This painting is much more beautiful in person. The white light streaming down is more subtle and blends in much better with the surrounding colors.

"Landscape" is the second in the series of ten (so far) miniature paintings I have recently completed. The inspiration for this painting was a scene along Saratoga Lake in Saratoga Springs, NY...my present home town. This piece truly looks much more beautiful in person. For some strange reason, these smaller paintings do not photograph as well as the larger ones and the texture of the canvas is much rougher than it actually appears in the painting. Oh well...

"Poppies" is the second in a series of miniature paintings I've been working on in recent days. So far I have 10 of them. I am enjoying painting them very much. The original painting of 'Poppies' is more beautiful than this picture depicts. It is quite difficult photographing these small works. The actual painting doesn't show the canvas texture as rough as it appears in the photo above and...the blending of colors is more subtle.

Hope you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving. I did. It was one of the more enjoyable ones I can remember. My daughter, Andrea, cooked a wonderful meal. I was very much into the spirit of the day and in deep gratitude...remembering last year at this time when I was just days away from fairly major surgery, quite frightened...and that I could be with my loved ones enjoying this day with all that behind me...and still painting...

The actual painting looks better in real life. I've been experimenting with painting on smaller canvas. It's been interesting. I have a few more I'll be posting in the coming days. They are all painted around the sides and look just lovely sitting on the easel. I will be listing this piece on ebay, probably within a week or so.

I visit other artist's websites and blogs fairly often. It appears most successful ones sustain a relative amount of consistency, at least in their style of painting. It seems like it would be a welcomed relief if I were more consistent with style and subject matter...it drives me crazy but it's still impossible for me to choose one, or even two and stay with those. I understand that this is not desirable in the art industry. What do you think? The most difficult part is having two or three paintings in progress with other ideas coming in constantly and limited time to explore and paint them all. Whew!
