If I hadn't painted this, I would love to receive it as a Valentine's Day gift for the sole reason that it would be a total surprise and I probably wouldn't have ever guessed what my gift would have been.

I was in a lighthearted mood a while back when I created this painting. The inspiration for the fish came from a piece of fabric and the turtle is from my imagination. The hearts were an afterthought when I felt the painting needed more..,

I think there's nothing more elegant or that expresses love more than one single red rose. This rose will stay as beautiful as it is today and enjoyed for many years to come. 

The rose has always been valued for its beauty and fragrance. It symbolizes love. The rose was sacred to a number of goddesses. The ancient Greeks and Romans identified the rose with their goddesses of love, Aphrodite and Venus.

I've added Andrea's Lillies to my collection of paintings available as prints and greeting cards at Fine Art America. 

This painting was inspired by a photograph my daughter, Andrea, took at the beautiful Yaddo Artist Retreat in Saratoga Springs, NY.   I live in Saratoga Springs and will be going there with my camera soon. The original painting was recently purchased by a hospital in Saratoga Springs for their permanent collection. It will be displayed in the Orthopedic Surgery floor with three of my other paintings. I am happy that recovering patients and their families will have access to it. The space they will be displayed in is under construction and I'll take pics of all my babies when they are on the wall and provide more details.

This is one of my works that I consider 'Healing Art"... why?....how do you feel when you view it? The colors I used are the primary colors considered 'healing colors.' Green is the primary healing color, white denotes spirituality and higher consciousness, and the pink/rose is the color of love.

I have had experiences, in dreams and light meditative states, of being engulfed in the most beautiful light that permeated every fiber of my being. When these experiences took place, they were in conjunction with a feeling of pure love that I regrettably haven't been able to duplicate in my ordinary life. I wish I could stay in that state forever. It contains everything and is pure bliss. As much as I'd try to hold on to the experience, it would dim as ongoing life galloped on and on and on. Nothing particularly eventful happened prior to these experiences to catalyze them...just life as it is and was at the time. My wish for all of you is to experience this light...you will then know what pure love is...

Another product of my imagination...no kidding, Marina...we thought you painted it from life. I'm posting this little angel again. I have two paintings on easels in process and I've completed two little ones, but haven't had the time to get them into my computer. This has been a very busy weekend. I've created a book of my 'Zone' paintings. I should have it in hand within a week or so.

I also had a gallery exhibit scheduled for September 20th and received a call from the gallery owner asking if I could bring my paintings in earlier...like this Wednesday...and I'm not ready yet...but will be by Wednesday morning. When things quiet down after that I'll post my new ones. Oh, I forgot, I have another small painting on another easel...a still life with two apples posing, which are beginning to decompose. And now...'Prison Break' just came on so I am going to sign off...
