"Hearts" is the 28th painting in the series of 29 from "The Zone" I don't usually have serpents/snakes on my mind but they seem to appear in almost every one of these paintings. Once they appear, I really love painting the designs on their bodies...very relaxing and exciting at the same time. 

After seeing a good amount of my "From The Zone" paintings thus far, have you ever wondered what would be revealed in a painting if you were to explore your zone?

Here is another painting from my "Zone." This is one of my favorites. Painting the tiny dots in the areas that appear to be out in the universe or outer space was SO relaxing...meditative. The whole process in itself is meditative but those little dots...really...I don't mix colors when I paint these pieces. I use the raw color. That's another factor with this direct, intuitive style that enables a greater sense of freedom. When painting in oils, it's rare that I use straight color from the tube without mixing it. I love painting so much and wish there were more of me to explore all the styles I paint in.

This is one of my paintings from what I call "The Zone." It was painted completely intuitively. Through the entire process, I disciplined my mind to stay open and not to form anything tangible. What's interesting about this process is that when I paint in this way with oil on canvas, a totally different style and content seems to emerge. What amazing adventures I've discovered painting in this way. I love teaching these "Painting From The Zone" workshops. It is so beautiful to witness my students discovering their hidden talents. I've posted these before. This has been a very scattered week for me and I'll probably post a few more of these "Zone" paintings over the next few days.
