"Plum On Pink"
5x7
Original oil painting on archival Raymar canvas panel
I love the rich deep color of plums. Did you know that plums are a member of the rose family? When dried, they are referred to as prunes, which are helpful for regulating digestion. Recently in the United States, prune marketers have begun to refer to prunes as 'dried plums' due to the negative connotation of the elderly dealing with constipation...just a bit of trivia here...
The fabric background used here was a lucky find. I've got to leave town to find any decent fabric for my paintings. We used to have a few fabric shops in Saratoga Springs, but they disappeared when the local mall was expanded.

Hi Marina:
ReplyDeleteThis plum painting is beautiful, nice rich burgundy off set by the pink tones. Looks like you could reach out and pick it up and take a bite.
