I have a beautiful frame for this painting. Cost is $25-no extra charge for framing/shipping.

I am in my natural environment when I paint these celestial landscapes. Paint seems to take on a life of it's own and flow naturally from brush to palette to canvas. On occasion, there is pure disaster and I wipe everything off and start all over but the majority of times there is perfect flow...at least that's what I experience. Flow...it's what I aspire to in my life. Following the lead of my intuition has been of great value in this quest...I've got a way to go though...

Strange how angels just seem to paint themselves in some of my paintings. I had no intention of painting an angel...at least not consciously... as I continued to develop this painting. It was just going to be the night sky with planets and the sun's rays flowing down. This is what I find so exciting about painting spontaneously and intuitively...the surprises!

Now this was a painting that required a great deal of focus. It was very difficult discerning the folds of the fabric, with all those stripes going on. I painted this quite some time ago and only exhibited it once. It's been in hiding for the most part. I do that on occasion with some of my paintings. I have a stack upstairs in my storage room that I've been ambivalent about or want to tweak in one way or another. Now that I've brought this one downstairs in the main part of the house, I like it more and more...

Painting the heavens, clouds and celestial landscapes is an extraordinarily freeing experience for me. Here is another piece that was completed some time ago and sold almost immediately...another one I didn't think was very good. I am recognizing my rhythm with painting more and more. When I complete a difficult piece that requires a great deal of focus, my next painting is usually spontaneous such as this one pictured. I find great value in exploring all the styles I have developed. Choosing difficult subjects has developed my skill and patience in ways nothing else could have.

This was a particularly difficult painting...moreso than I had anticipated when I began. I had a lot of resistance. It sat on the easel for days in between painting sessions and took a few sessions to complete it. I'm happy with the result.

I fell in love with this fabric and so did my little golden pear model. I had to coax her to get up when our session was completed. When I first contemplated starting this blog and being affiliated with the 'Daily Painters' the biggest obstacle as I saw it was "How do I come up with ideas for a new small painting on an almost daily basis?" It took me several months just jump in and begin. When I did it was as if a dam burst....so, I am overloaded with ideas now. Finding fabrics such as the one in this painting helps a lot too. I rarely complete a painting a day though...more like 3 or so a week and I always have a larger one on another easel that I'm working on. Incidentally, does anyone know what the red flowers are in this painting? I'd appreciate it if you'd contact me.

I heard a news report yesterday, that scientists have confirmed water on the moon. Another painting created spontaneously with a very free spirit. I often imagine what it might be when I am no longer in a body on this planet. Most times, I see myself as a spirit, bird's eye view, soaring above everything. I tried to fly once, when I was about 7 years old.....arms outstretched...took one huge enthusiastic leap and landed pretty hard on my belly. That was the end of my experiments with flight...

Magical Angel was created intuitively/spontaneously from my imagination. I wasn't sure what I was going to paint. I began painting the black oval shape which is now the angel's face and the painting went from there, developing into the figure with wings...so I had this painting with a blank black oval face sitting there for quite some time without a defined face. One day, feeling brave enough and determined to finish it, I took a deep breath and once again, cleared my mind as best as I could and let my intuition just take over, one stroke at a time. I am happy with the result....always a new adventure...
